Service Coordinator – Job Description

Location: Houston, TX

Reports To: VP of Operations

Department: Operations / Service

Overview:

The Service Coordinator is responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing all service activities for Hydria's trailer and storage systems. This position ensures that field service jobs are completed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with Hydria's quality and customer service standards. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, familiarity with mechanical and high-pressure gas systems, and the ability to support both field technicians and customers directly.

Key Responsibilities:

Scheduling & Coordination

  • Schedule and dispatch Service Technicians for field service, troubleshooting, and repair work.
  • Communicate with customers to confirm appointments, gather service information, and provide updates throughout the repair process.
  • Coordinate with Production and Engineering teams to align service priorities with overall operational schedules.
  • Track all open work orders and ensure timely job completion and closeout.
  • Support technicians with documentation, parts ordering, and resource planning.

Customer Support & Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers requiring service or support.
  • Accurately capture customer concerns, job requirements, and technical issues.
  • Provide updates to customers on job status, parts availability, and service outcomes.
  • Support warranty claims and coordinate follow-up activities when needed.

Field Service Operations

  • Support field service logistics, ensuring all technicians are properly equipped, briefed, and compliant with safety requirements.
  • Assist in diagnosing trailer and system issues related to pressure systems, valves, telemetry, and controls.
  • Ensure service jobs involving high-pressure natural gas (CNG/RNG) and hydrogen are conducted safely and according to company and regulatory standards.
  • Track field reports, technician notes, and incident documentation for internal review and process improvement.

Documentation & Cost Tracking

  • Create, manage, and close service jobs in the ERP system, ensuring accurate entry of labor, materials, and parts usage.
  • Maintain service logs, cost records, and preventive maintenance schedules for customer and company equipment.
  • Support preparation of service reports, customer summaries, and internal performance metrics.
  • Track expenses, warranty parts, and cost recovery for service activities.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all field service activities comply with OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies.
  • Track technician training and certifications related to high-pressure systems.
  • Maintain awareness of safety procedures for CNG and hydrogen systems and support ongoing technician training.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in service coordination, field service support, or operations management (industrial gas, energy, or transportation industry preferred).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting or managing field service involving high-pressure systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP or service management systems preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mechanical or technical understanding of trailers, valves, or gas systems preferred.
  • Safety-oriented mindset and ability to support a culture of compliance and reliability.

Performance Indicators:

  • On-time completion and accuracy of scheduled service jobs.
  • Customer satisfaction and communication responsiveness.
  • Accuracy of ERP job documentation and cost tracking.
  • Reduction in service backlog and improved technician utilization.
  • Compliance with safety and regulatory requirements for all field operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75, $120,000.00 per year
