Minnesota Department of Health (MOH) is hiring a Federal Grants Application Coordinator to join the Financial Services unit within the Financial Management Division. This position will provide fiscal and budgetary analysis by assisting in the development, evaluation, and management organizational systems to track Agency grant activity to include federal maintenance of effort (MOE) and grant match requirements for all of MDH's federal grant programs.
Working as a Federal Grant Application Coordinator, you will:
- Provide fiscal management and oversight for incoming grants and agreements, review budgets, and respond to questions from legal and programmatic staff.
- Assist in the development and ongoing maintenance of a system to track and analyze agency grant activity to include review of budgets, grant match requirements and maintenance of effort (MOE) activities for each incoming and existing grant as required.
- Coordinate the agency's grant application process so that applications are properly reviewed prior to submission, tracked for future reference, and submitted by required deadlines.
- Interpret, document, and communicate multiple layers of state, federal and agency specific rules and regulations for unit reference.
This position is currently eligible for up to 50% hybrid telework for applicants residing in Minnesota or a bordering state within 50 miles of the work location.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications

Two (2) years of experience in accounting, financial management, or grants management. This experience must include:
- Demonstrated experience with federal grant policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
A degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field may substitute for experience as follows:
- Master's degree: Eighteen (18) months
- Bachelor's degree: Twelve (12) months
- Associate degree: Six (6 months)
Additional qualifications to be assessed during the interview process:
- Ability to interpret complex financial reports, identify problems, and recommend solutions.
- Strong attention to details.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Exemplary customer service skills.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or other closely related area.
- Use of the State's accounting and reporting systems, SWIFT and OBIEE or similar systems.
- Knowledge of statewide accounting and budgeting practices and procedures sufficient to review and analyze budgets.
