Part-Time Help Desk / Technical Support Specialist (20 hrs/week)

Location: Boise, ID (Onsite or Hybrid)

About the Role:

We are seeking a Part-Time Help Desk / Technical Support Specialist to provide high-quality technical and customer support. In this role, you'll assist internal staff and external customers with troubleshooting, system access, and technical inquiries, helping ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to user inquiries via phone, email, or chat regarding technical issues and service requests.
  • Provide step-by-step assistance with online systems and user portals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues for staff and customers.
  • Reset passwords, unlock accounts, and assist users with authentication or access problems.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level IT or systems teams when necessary.
  • Document incidents, service requests, and resolutions accurately in the ticketing system.
  • Assist with software installations, updates, and system testing.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely resolution of all support requests.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with non-technical users to deliver excellent customer service.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • 1–3 years of experience in IT Help Desk, Technical Support, or Customer Support roles.
  • Experience supporting Windows OS, Microsoft Office 365, and basic networking.
  • Experience with government or enterprise systems preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Zendesk).

Schedule:

  • Part-time (approximately 20 hours per week)
  • Flexible hours available
