POSITION TITLE: Recorder Office Supervisor
DATE OF CLOSING: November 6th, 2025
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Director of Land Records
HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
JOB PURPOSE: Supervise Recording, Vital Statistics, and Compliance and Serve as Driver License Agent
WAGE RANGE: $ $47.44
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise staff and establish office workflow, policies and procedures
- Works with Abstract and Torrens documents and ensure real estate transactions are recorded correctly
- Oversees filing and maintenance of birth, death, marriage, military discharges, notary and ordination records
- Issues and renewals of drivers licenses, permits and state identification cards
- Balance daily deposits and fees
- Prepare original abstracts, continuation of abstracts, and land title searches
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Great customer service skills.
- Ability to work well with co-workers.
- Pleasant attitude and patience while dealing with the public and clients.
- Good understanding of English language.
- Long periods of standing, customer contact, keyboarding and scanning documents.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) with five years of Recorder, Auditor, Treasurer, or Real Estate closing office experience; OR College degree with three years of experience
- Experience in reading and drawing legal descriptions
- Experience in reading tract index and researching legal descriptions
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Criminal Background Check Required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manual dexterity and motor coordination are required for the variety of jobs performed.
- Skill in vision in order to perform general duties adequately.
