Materials Manager

Reports to: Operations Manager

Position Summary:

The Materials Manager plays a critical role in ensuring efficient production flow at Cambridgeport Custom by overseeing the availability, allocation, and readiness of materials and equipment across all manufacturing stages. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position works closely with department supervisors, crew leads, and the purchasing team to track production progress, address material needs, and drive schedule compliance. Through daily walk-throughs, data analysis, and active participation in production meetings, the Materials Manager helps maintain operational continuity and supports timely, high-quality product delivery in a fast-paced, custom manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Support:

  • Collaborate with Purchasing to track, validate, and allocate materials and equipment.
  • Gain expertise in the KD (knockdown) process, from shipment list creation to final delivery sign-off
  • Manage consumable inventory to ensure timely reordering.

Production Coordination:

  • Maintain and update the production schedule, transitioning to Epicor for enhanced functionality.
  • Track and analyze production phases, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Stage necessary equipment and materials required for production.
  • Track production progress and analyze phase reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing experience and familiarity with Epicor preferred
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills with excellent attention to detail preferred.
  • Proficient in data entry and reporting with strong computer literacy preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and coordination abilities across teams and departments are preferred.
