Position Purpose
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Sales Representative to join our sales team. The Sales Representative will partner closely with the operations team members to drive sales and support the growth of our business. This role involves building relationships with customers, promoting our products, and providing exceptional service to ensure customer satisfaction. This role will also assist Outside Sales Representatives with scheduling and coordination when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains relationships with new and existing customers to understand their needs and provide appropriate product recommendations.
- Assists customers in selecting the right products for their projects, providing guidance on features, specifications, and pricing.
- Processes sales orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of products to
- Assists with taking measurements and providing customer support as sold material is delivered.
- Generates leads through cold calling, networking, and other sales techniques to expand our customer
- Follows up with customers to ensure satisfaction and addresses any concerns or issues
- Collaborate with team members to develop sales strategies and achieve sales targets.
- Stays updated on industry trends, product developments, and competitor offerings to effectively position our products in the market.
- Attends industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote our brand and build relationships within the industry.
- Prepares sales reports and maintains accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and inventory levels.
- Provides feedback to management on customer needs, market trends, and product improvements.
- Assists Outside Sales Representatives with coordination, scheduling and documentation when needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills, with a customer-focused approach to sales. Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets in a fast-paced, competitive environment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft programs to include Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders
Education, Qualifications, Licensing Requirements
High school diploma. GED, or equivalent.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Previous sales experience in the building supply industry is an advantage.
Bilingual skills (English and Spanish) is a plus.
Working Conditions
The Sales Representative will primarily work in an office environment 90% but may also spend time visiting construction sites, client offices, or attending industry events. The position may require occasional travel within the designated sales territory to meet with clients or attend meetings.
Physical requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods, especially during site visits or events. Must be able to lift and carry materials or samples weighing up to 50 pounds. Comfortable with using office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers for extended periods. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for tasks such as typing, writing, and handling product samples. May need to navigate construction sites or other potentially hazardous environments, so awareness of safety protocols and ability to adhere to them is essential.
