POSITION SUMMARY

The Pastry Supervisor supports the Executive Pastry Chef in ensuring smooth daily operations of the Pastry department. This role helps lead the pastry team, ensuring consistent quality, efficiency, and creativity in all baked goods and desserts. In addition to hands-on pastry production, this position includes light administrative responsibilities such as email correspondence, ordering, and event coordination.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Operations

  • Serve as a working leader for the pastry team, setting a positive example and maintaining high standards for product quality, organization, and teamwork.
  • Provide guidance and oversight when the Executive Pastry Chef is not present to ensure smooth operations and clear communication.
  • Support training, feedback, and consistent adherence to recipes, plating standards, and cleanliness protocols.
  • Collaborate with the culinary leadership team to maintain efficient production schedules and meet prep and service needs.

Administrative & Communication

  • Manage pastry department email correspondence while on shift.
  • Place and track orders for ingredients, packaging, and supplies as directed by the Executive Pastry Chef.
  • Maintain up-to-date digital records, including prep lists, order guides, and event details.
  • Utilize software to assist with inventory, cost tracking, and ordering.

Production & Events

  • Participate in daily pastry and dessert production, ensuring consistent quality and timely completion.
  • Assist with offsite catering and special events, including transportation, setup, and execution.
  • Ensure all health, safety, and sanitation standards are maintained in compliance with company and local regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a professional pastry or bakery environment; prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Food Handlers Permit (UT) - unexpired
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email, spreadsheets, and kitchen management software.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to travel to offsite local events occasionally.
  • Passion for pastry, attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position involves a combination of hands-on pastry work, administrative responsibilities, and leadership presence in a fast-paced kitchen. The Pastry Supervisor should demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and adaptability to support the team's success.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • Ability to bend, lift, push & carry heavy objects up to 50 lbs.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
