Job Summary

The Sales & Brand Engagement Representative serves as the public face of both Brooklyn Millwork and BuildOps, representing the company across social media and in-person brand outreach. This position blends proactive client engagement, online presence management, and live representation at industry events.

The ideal candidate is highly proactive, self-driven, and comfortable operating independently with minimal supervision. Under the strategic direction of the Head of Marketing, this person identifies new opportunities, develops client relationships, and actively strengthens the brand's presence online and within the professional design and construction community.

This is an hourly position with a bonus structure tied to qualified leads that result in projects or sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Social Media Presence and Engagement
  • Manage and grow Brooklyn Millwork's and BuildOps social media accounts.
  • Take ownership of identifying target audiences, potential clients, and niche communities for organic engagement.
  • Develop and maintain a dynamic list of relevant accounts – including architects, interior designers, general contractors, photographers, and even competitors – that align with the company's target market.
  • Engage proactively with these accounts by liking, commenting on, and responding to their posts to increase visibility and brand familiarity.
  • Follow accounts strategically when beneficial for brand awareness or potential collaboration.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Marketing and Content Creator to plan and coordinate photo and video content days.
  • Participate in photo/video shoots, ensuring authentic and professional brand representation.
  • Propose creative ideas for campaigns and social storytelling that increase engagement and visibility.
  • Track engagement metrics and provide weekly activity summaries reflecting outreach, engagement, and new connections made.
  • Brand Representation and Events
  • Represent Brooklyn Millwork and BuildOps professionally at trade shows, networking events, and design or construction industry gatherings.
  • Research, identify, and propose relevant events aligned with each brand's goals and audience.
  • Handle logistics and attendance for approved events, acting as the public face of both brands.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships, recording all leads and key contacts from events.
  • Provide post-event summaries, including new connections, opportunities discovered, and event insights.
  • Sales Lead Generation
  • Proactively identify and qualify potential clients through social media interactions, events, and networking.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Brooklyn Millwork's and BuildOps' ideal client profiles and actively pursue relevant prospects.
  • Follow up directly with all generated leads, maintaining communication from initial contact through qualification and handoff to contract discussions.
  • Maintain and update the CRM (Monday CRM) with detailed records of outreach, lead progress, and outcomes.
  • Track conversion status for bonus eligibility and ensure timely updates on each prospect's status.
  • Operate with independence and initiative, managing personal outreach and lead progression without daily supervision.
  • Collaboration and Coordination
  • Coordinate with the Head of Marketing for direction on branding strategy, campaign timing, and tone of communication.
  • Communicate with the Estimating, and Project Management teams as needed to ensure proper transition of confirmed opportunities.
  • Align social, sales, and event activities with broader marketing initiatives across both brands.
  • Maintain consistent, professional brand representation in all public interactions, both online and offline.
  • Reporting and Accountability
  • Provide weekly summaries of social activity, engagement growth, new leads, and proposed event opportunities.
  • Maintain complete and accurate CRM records of leads, clients, and communication history.
  • Recommend new strategies or outreach methods based on engagement data and feedback.
  • Remain accountable for personal productivity, professional communication, and visible representation of both brands.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Skills:
  • Experience managing Instagram, LinkedIn, and other relevant social media platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of engagement metrics and social analytics.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (preferably Monday CRM).
  • Ability to assist during content shoots and ensure cohesive visual presentation.
  • Experience:
  • Previous experience in sales, marketing, or brand promotion preferred.
  • Proven success representing a company or brand in professional or client-facing environments.
  • Experience working independently and proactively generating new opportunities.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Highly proactive and self-motivated - able to take initiative without daily supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Outgoing and confident when representing the company publicly.
  • Strong organization, reporting accuracy, and attention to detail.

Performance Expectations

  • Key Metrics:
  • Growth in social media followers, engagement, and audience reach for both Brooklyn Millwork and BuildOps.
  • Number of qualified leads generated and followed up on per month.
  • Conversion rate of qualified leads to active opportunities.
  • Consistent participation in approved industry events and related outreach.
  • Quality, professionalism, and consistency of brand representation.
  • Accountability Areas:
  • Responsible for organic engagement and visibility growth across both brands.
  • Accountable for developing, tracking, and following up on all qualified leads.
  • Responsible for accurate CRM maintenance and communication history.
  • Expected to contribute to brand perception through proactive, authentic outreach.
  • Performance Reviews:
  • Evaluations will assess engagement metrics, lead generation, follow-up quality, initiative level, and collaboration with the Marketing and Sales teams.
  • Success will be measured by proactive activity, networking effectiveness, and the number of new qualified leads contributing to closed deals.
  • Bonus eligibility will depend on verified lead conversions and overall contribution to brand exposure.

Working Conditions

  • Hourly position, paid for all approved work hours including photo/video shoot days and event participation.
  • Remote-first, with required in-person presence for scheduled shoots, events, or key meetings.
  • Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required for networking or events.
  • Potential future transition to a full-time in-office or showroom-based role as marketing operations expand.
