Overview

Upper Atmosphere is hiring experienced retail professionals to fly into New Orleans for 5–7 days and help rebuild operations, hire, train, and reset our two-three fashion boutique locations.

This is a high-impact, short-term leadership role — you're not just assisting. You're stepping in to help fix structure, train staff, and support the store owner directly.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with hiring and onboarding new team members
  • Train current staff on customer experience and sales
  • Reset store layout, backstock, and visuals
  • Create and post open/close checklists

  • Build a daily structure the team can follow after you leave

  • Lead short-term store reset projects by executing merchandising plans, stocking shelves, and organizing displays to meet brand standards.

  • Manage inventory control processes including stock counts, replenishment, and utilizing RF scanners for accurate data entry.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts safely to load, unload, and move products efficiently.
  • Conduct heavy lifting of merchandise and supplies while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Support shipping & receiving activities by coordinating deliveries, verifying shipments, and maintaining proper documentation.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including cleaning work areas, organizing storage spaces, and ensuring store cleanliness.
  • Communicate effectively with store staff and team members across locations to ensure smooth operations and project completion.
  • Utilize organizational skills to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively during store resets, and document all activities thoroughly.

Experience

  • Prior experience in retail sales with a focus on merchandising or inventory management.
  • Warehouse experience involving stock control, shipping & receiving, or heavy lifting is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and RF scanners to track product movement accurately.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts; certification is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills in multiple languages are advantageous for working across diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to multitask in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail.
