Job Title: Accounting Manager Department: Finance   

Reports to: Finance Manager FLSA (Exempt / Non Exempt):  Exempt

Job Summary: 

The accounting manager oversees the day to day management of the AP and AR duties, prepares financial statements and conducts research to resolves discrepancies. This position will assist the Manager of Finance with financial analysis of all business functions and monitoring overall company performance. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise accounting office staff including AP and AR employees and the day to day functions of the department.
  • Direct responsibility to oversee AP/AR and general accounting functions to insure ASC follows through on commitments to our customers, vendors and employees.  
  • Accountability to maintain the accuracy of the general ledger.  
  • Support all business units by utilizing report writing skills and understanding of ERP systems to provide appropriate data to managers to better manage the costs of the organization.
  • Facilitate ACH implementation and other projects as directed by the Finance Manager.
  • Prepares work papers for independent auditors.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities in the finance/accounting department. 

Job Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with 5 years' experience working as an accounting manager/supervisor/controller.
  • Exceptional MS Office skills and expert level experience with Excel in an accounting environment.  
  • Proven work experience with a high level of detail and accuracy.  
  • Ability to solve problems effectively using sound accounting principles.  
  • Prepared to assume a proactive role in order to provide support the Finance Manager in a fast-paced growing organization.
  • Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time & work in a standard office environment.
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment, ie: computer, 10 key, fax machine, copier etc.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance. 
  • 3 – 5 years' accounting work with multinational manufacturing experience.
  • 6+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience managing employees within the accounting function.
  • Experience with Syteline and Jet Reports.

Physical Demands:

  • The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods using a computer.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
