We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team and ensure the accurate and timely processing of employee compensation. Responsibilities
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on schedule using payroll software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro.
- Maintain and update employee records within HRIS platforms, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Manage benefits administration related to payroll deductions, tax withholdings, and retirement contributions.
- Prepare and review payroll reports, including tax filings, benefits reports, and governmental compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to perform accounts payable and receivable functions linked to payroll expenses.
- Conduct data entry tasks with precision using 10 key typing skills to ensure accurate processing of payroll transactions.
- Assist in audits related to payroll and benefits administration by providing detailed reports and supporting documentation.
- Support the integration of payroll systems such as Kronos or Ceridian with other financial software like QuickBooks or PeopleSoft.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws, labor regulations, and accounting standards affecting payroll operations.
- Handle inquiries from employees regarding paychecks, benefits, or tax questions professionally and promptly.
- Participate in process improvements for payroll workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Skills
- Extensive experience with payroll management software including Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles such as general ledger accounting, journal entries, debits & credits, and account reconciliation.
- Proficiency in financial software like QuickBooks or PeopleSoft for seamless integration with payroll processes.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems for employee data management and benefits administration.
- Understanding of governmental accounting standards and tax regulations relevant to payroll processing.
- Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills.
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices is a plus for organizations in that sector.
- Experience in accounts payable/receivable functions related to payroll expenses.
- Solid grasp of technical accounting concepts including double-entry bookkeeping and general ledger reconciliation.
- Strong analysis skills for reviewing payroll data and resolving discrepancies efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating across HR, finance, and compliance teams.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while maintaining confidentiality.
