Position Summary:

The Commercial Banking Officer will focus on sourcing, developing, and managing commercial banking opportunities. This employee's primary responsibility is to generate new business for the Bank while maintaining client relationships and ensuring compliance with lending policies and Banking regulations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Identify and prospect new commercial banking clients through networking, referrals, and outreach efforts.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve loan, deposit and treasury origination targets.
  • Build strong relationships with local businesses, real estate professionals, and other key referral sources.
  • Meet with potential clients to understand their banking needs and present appropriate solutions.
  • Guide clients through the loan application process, explaining terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate with credit analysts, credit manager, underwriters, and CLO to structure loan terms that meet the client's needs and align with the Bank's policies.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and economic conditions affecting commercial lending and the Bank's markets.
  • Identify opportunities for growth in specific industries and markets.
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients as a trusted advisor.
  • Ensure all loan applications comply with banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare and submit complete and accurate loan files for approval.
  • Maintain detailed records of loan activity and client communications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Education

  • 5 years of real estate lending experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, economics, or related field.
  • Proven experience in commercial lending, sales, and business development.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis, credit principles, and loan structuring.
  • Strong understanding of banking regulations and commercial lending practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
