Job Overview
The Grants Compliance Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the organization's grant processes, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations while maximizing funding opportunities. This person will design and implement a grant compliance program to address programmatic and statutory requirements in a human services not for profit. This role requires a detail-oriented individual to manage the entire grant lifecycle, from proposal development to post-award reporting and compliance, ensuring that the organization is adhering to the terms and conditions of grant awards and regulations set by the grantor, as well as any laws or policies that apply to the use of grant funds. This position will also oversee process quality improvement activities. Reports to: Executive Director.
Status: Full Time, Exempt – Benefit Eligible Salary Range: $73-$76,000 annually depending on experience.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business Administration)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit grant management and administration, contract administration, or regulatory compliance.
Has a strong understanding of statutory guidelines and permissible use of state and federal grant funds.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Responsibilities
Manage reporting and compliance aspects of federal, state, and local grants. Collaborate across departments to finalize narratives, budgets, and timelines.
Manage the entire life cycle of our grants, from assisting with developing and submitting proposals to monitoring and ensuring compliance.
Develop, and annually update, agency grant policies, procedures, and forms per funder requirements.
Work closely with the finance and program teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and program implementation.
Serve as coordinator with program teams to ensure alignment between grant applications and program development.
Manage M/WBE vendor utilization requirements by soliciting, tracking, and reporting to ensure compliance.
Proactively understand the evolution of the compliance requirements to pre-emptively address and mitigate compliance risks and serves as the main contact in audits and onsite monitoring visits.
Provide regular updates to the grantor on the progress and outcomes of the grant-funded project. This includes programmatic reports, financial reports, and performance reports on a regular basis as required (monthly, quarterly, or annually).
Manage grants calendar, ensuring appropriate short and long-term planning and reporting deadlines are met.
Provide guidance and assistance in the interpretation of funding agency regulations, requirements, and guidelines
Coordinate quality improvement process activities as outlined in the agency quality improvement plan.
Participate in all grantor meetings and/or webinars.
Supports and participates in a culture of philanthropy by recognizing that fundraising efforts—including donor relations and organizational agency communication— include all staff and is essential to carry out the work and mission of the organization. Assist in development efforts as requested.
Fully engage in self-care to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Other duties as assigned.
