Southeast Soccer Club (SESC) is a youth soccer organization in Southeast Portland offering programs for kids in PreK through 8th grade. We serve more than 1,200 players each year.

Job Description:

Working closely with the Board, the Executive Director oversees operations, communications, budgeting support, and staff management while helping shape the club's long-term vision. This role serves as the central point of coordination for the club's programs, families, coaches, and community partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day club operations
  • First point of contact for club communication
  • First point of contact for Board
  • With program heads, develop training schedules
  • Assist Treasurer in development of club budget
  • Produce marketing and social media information
  • Organize emails to club players, coaches, and families as needed
  • Support program heads with tasks
  • Manage fields for comp, rec, and MM programs, working with heads of those programs
  • Ensure overall club operations are maintained
  • Coordinate the gear-swap spreadsheet and related duties, or manage a gear volunteer
  • Plan Annual General Meeting, with assistance from the Vice President
  • Ensure all other staff are meeting goals and have resources needed to meet their goals
  • Perform annual reviews of all positions
  • Attend an annual review conducted by the Board
  • Work closely with the Board on day-to-day operations and on Club vision/direction
  • Maintain knowledge of OYSA and PYSA rules, policies, and guidelines
  • Provide a comprehensive written monthly report to Board; when the Board meets, the report should be sent to the Board at least 24 hours before the Board meeting
  • Attend each Board meeting, except when excused beforehand by the President
  • Record approximate hours as part of monthly report

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills; writes clearly; edits work for spelling and grammar; keeps others informed
  • People management: Includes staff and board in planning and decision-making; provides regular performance feedback; improves processes
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Team player with strong work ethic, positive attitude, and collaborative spirit
  • Problem solving and judgement: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; resourceful
  • Planning & Organizing: Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; organizes tasks and develops realistic action plans

Compensation:

  • $20,000 annual stipend to be paid monthly
  • This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position
