Summary: Enhances and improves the SRIM experience for our residents, families, and visitors, promotes the core value of the Golden Rule, secure premises and personnel by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Speaks to and interacts with residents, families, and visitors while showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect
2. Must be alert at all times
3. Secure premises and personnel by patrolling premises and conducting walk throughs on an hourly basis
4. Ensure the security, safety and well being of all personnel, visitors and the premises
5. Document activities including hourly walks, in the security log
6. Answers main line and after-hours phone lines with a welcoming and inviting attitude, and always responds courteously
7. Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees, residents and visitors
8. Protect the community's assets relative to theft, assault, fire and other safety issues
9. Coordinate 30-minute meal breaks with nurse-on-duty, ensuring he/she is able to answer the after-hours line during that time period
10. Review and discuss important details with previous/oncoming shift
11. Communicate any issues/emergencies with Maintenance Director
12. Communicate with nurse-on-duty regarding any issues or concerns
13. Communicates effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding
14. Follows written and verbal instructions
15. Practices good body mechanics and safe working habits
16. Observes and reports safety hazards immediately to supervisor
17. Knows, understands, and follows established policies and procedures in emergency situations
18. Works as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments
19. Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies, and procedures
20. Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, associates, and management
21. Complies with attendance and call off policy
22. Attends and/or participates in mandatory meetings
23. Wears clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy
24. Refrains from discussing resident care issues with families and visitors, and refers all inquiries to immediate supervisor
25. Knows, understands, and follows HIPAA regulations
26. Takes initiative in work, seeks out additional information, and offers solutions/suggestions
27. Takes on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties
28. Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned or as requested
29. Assist other departments as needed, such as roll silverware for dining room

Excellent reporting skills, Must practice good judgment, safety management, professionalism at all times, integrity, dependability, and maintain emotional control
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess basic Security and Fire Inspection Procedures, Knowledge of Security Operations and Procedures.
