As an Entry-Level Chuukese Interpreter at Professional Interpreting Services, you will play a crucial role in bridging language gaps and ensuring clear communication between individuals who speak Chuukese and those who do not. You will facilitate interactions in various settings, including medical, legal, business, and community environments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation between Chuukese and English in a variety of settings.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism during all assignments.
  • Act as a neutral and impartial communicator, avoiding personal opinions or judgments.
  • Prepare for assignments by familiarizing yourself with relevant terminology and subject matter.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to ensure effective communication.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in both Chuukese and English.
  • Excellent oral communication skills in both languages.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
  • Willingness to adhere to a professional code of ethics.
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • No prior experience required; training will be provided by The Interpreter Studio.

Job Type: Contract- this is NOT a full time position nor part time, you will be hired as an independent contractor with 1 hour minimum assignments.

Pay: $30 - $50 per hour depending on experience and education level.
