Job Description: A Field Safety Technician is an entry-level safety professional who supports industrial job sites—such as oil and gas operations—by setting up, operating, and maintaining safety equipment. This includes gas detection systems, breathing air apparatus, and safety trailers. The role involves equipment inspections, calibrations, fit testing, documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Rig up and maintain safety trailers and gas detection systems.
- Perform equipment calibrations, inspections, and fit testing.
- Maintain accurate documentation and inventory of safety equipment.
- Ensure cleanliness and readiness of all safety gear.
- Assist with job staging and equipment loading.
- Adhere to safety protocols and customer guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Valid US Driver's License (Required)
- CPR & First Aid Certificate (Required)
- Safeland Training (Required)
- OSHA 10 (Required)
- DOT Physical (Required)
- H2S and LEL Safety Awareness Training (Preferred)
- Respiratory Fit Tested (Preferred)
- Otis Training/ Certification (Preferred)
- OSHA 30 (Preferred)
Essential Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
- Attention to detail and time management.
- Team-oriented with adaptability to changing environments.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift/carry up to 45 lbs.
- Work in outdoor conditions and confined spaces.
- Wear a respirator and handle exposure to atmospheric hazards.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting wage: $18.50 per hour.
