Lead Instructor

Job description

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Instructor to lead our kids' cooking classes and events. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children, has a love for cooking, and can bring enthusiasm and structure to a high-energy environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hands-on cooking classes and workshops for children ages 4–16
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety of the classroom/kitchen area
  • Guide and mentor assistant instructors
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff
  • Help plan and run camps, birthday parties, and seasonal events
  • Follow and enforce safety protocols

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children (teaching, camp, coaching, etc.) preferred but not essential
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Some basic cooking or baking knowledge (no degree required)
  • Positive, professional, and patient demeanor
  • Ability to multi-task and manage small groups
  • Must pass a background check
  • CPR/First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain)
  • No degree required

Schedule

  • 10–20 hours/week (with potential to increase during holidays and summer camps)
  • Afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays required
  • 4 hour shift
  • After school
  • Day shift/Morning shift
  • Weekends as needed
  • Work Location: In person at Young Chefs Academy, Frisco (Near Preston Road)

Young Chefs Academy of Frisco is a fun, creative cooking school where children and teens build culinary skills, confidence, and lifelong memories. We host weekly classes, camps, birthday parties, and workshops in a safe, hands-on kitchen environment designed just for kids.
