Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Engineer to provide comprehensive technical support for desktops, laptops, and thin clients. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, networking, remote support, and end-user troubleshooting. The role involves both desk-side and remote support, ensuring seamless IT operations and end-user satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide end-user support for desktops, laptops, and thin clients both onsite and remotely.
  • Install, patch, and troubleshoot Windows 7/10 operating systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Microsoft Office 2019 and Office 365 applications.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Windows networking (TCP/IP) and related connectivity issues.
  • Escalate complex issues to next-level support or management as required.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers.
  • Utilize remote support tools to assist users and resolve technical issues.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot in-house developed and third-party software applications.
  • Troubleshoot and support desktop and network printers.
  • Provide technical support for Google Workspace products.
  • Support Apple devices including iPads and iPhones.
  • Understand and provide client-side support for Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Implement and manage hard drive encryption, preferably using BitLocker or McAfee.
  • Modify and maintain the Windows system registry as necessary.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in desktop, laptop, and thin client support.
  • Proven experience with Windows 7/10 installation, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting Microsoft 2019 and Office 365 products.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows networking (TCP/IP) configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience providing technical support through remote tools.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory (client-side) management.
  • Experience in Apple device support (iPhone, iPad).
  • Knowledge of hard drive encryption tools like BitLocker or McAfee.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve printer and Google Workspace issues.
  • Ability to safely modify and manage Windows registry settings.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Certification(s) such as CompTIA A+, Network+, MCP are a plus.
