This position provides direct leadership to the Water Supply Planning and Analysis Program. Supervises a team of three Water Supply Planners, two Surface Water Modelers, and a Data Analyst. Coordinates and provides technical oversight and expertise to the Local and Regional Water Supply Planning Program to ensure statewide programmatic effectiveness and consistency. Establishes and maintains regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance with State Water Control Law. Provides planning guidance and technical review of all local or regional water supply planning documents including Existing Water Sources, Existing Water Use, Existing Resource Conditions, Determinations of Water Need, Drought Response/Conservation Plans, and Alternative Analyses. Assists communities in all phases of program administration by working with clients to resolve issues efficiently, openly, fairly, and consistently. Communicates with Agency leadership, localities, Regional Planning Areas, and stakeholders on Water Supply Planning requests, needs, and resources. Leads development of the Virginia Annual Water Resources Report and the five-year State Water Resources Plan. Ensures that planning and permitting decisions are based on sound scientific principles and analysis.
This position may require you to operate a state owned or leased vehicle. Therefore, a valid driver's license is required.
Please note this position follows a hybrid work schedule to include both in-office and telework. Candidates must be able to work from the assigned work location in Virginia.
This is a restricted position. Continued employment is contingent on the availability of grant or non-general funds.
