RUN Studios, and its client partner, a large online retailer headquartered in Seattle, are seeking a UX Writer/Content Designer to join for an approximate 6-month project

While this position is mostly remote, you must be local to Seattle/Bellevue and be available to be onsite frequently (up to 3 days a week).

We are seeking a seasoned UX Writer/Content Designer with deep experience in content strategy to support customer-facing e-commerce experiences. This role partners closely with multiple design groups to craft clear, concise, and intuitive content that elevates the end-to-end customer journey. The ideal candidate brings strong editorial judgment, the ability to operate independently on complex initiatives, and a passion for scaling best practices across design teams.

As a UX Writer/Content Designer, You Will

  • Write clear, concise, and user-centered UX content grounded in e-commerce best practices.
  • Lead content strategy for complex, high-visibility initiatives, including defining messaging structure and syntax.
  • Conduct content audits to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and areas of opportunity.
  • Develop frameworks, guidelines, and documentation to scale UX writing across design teams.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align on content strategy and ensure consistency across experiences.
  • Use data, user insights, and internal feedback to test, iterate, and refine content decisions.
  • Educate partners and advocate for UX writing best practices to uplevel overall output.

As an Applicant, You Bring

  • 7+ years of professional UX writing experience required.
  • B2C e-commerce experience required.
  • Proven experience in UX writing, content strategy, or a related field, with a strong portfolio showcasing clear, concise, and effective UX content, particularly for mobile applications.
  • Expertise in content iteration based on data-driven audience insights, user research, and internal feedback.
  • Ability to lead content strategy for complex, high-profile initiatives, balancing business goals with user needs.
  • Strong collaboration skills, working closely with UX designers, product managers, and other stakeholders to create seamless user experiences, primarily using Figma.
  • Experience developing scalable solutions, including partner education and formal documentation of UX writing best practices.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive alignment across teams.
  • A deep understanding of UX principles, accessibility, and best practices for writing in digital products.

Compensation

Pay Range: $80-$95.50 (Hourly)

The successful candidate's pay will be based on various factors such as individual qualifications and work location.

Benefits:

Benefits and perks may vary depending on location and nature of the work, but eligible employees have access to medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D benefits, health savings and flexible spending accounts, other telehealth and wellness benefits, a minimum of seven paid holidays per year, accrual of at least 6.5 days (Temporary Employment) to at least 15 days (Regular Employment) of paid time off per year, a 401k plan with company match, discretionary bonuses dependent on company, team or individual performance, and referral bonuses for eligible hired referrals.
