Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in consulting, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role overseeing security project delivery

  • 5-8 years of experience in cybersecurity lifecycle management, program strategy/development, risk management

  • Cybersecurity certifications preferred – e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, etc.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Strategy: Expertise in developing and implementing strategies that drive business outcomes.

  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of security technologies, platforms, and architectures.

  • Client Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.

  • Project Management: Ability to manage project scope, timelines, and resources effectively.

  • Problem-Solving: Analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex business and technical challenges.

  • Foundational skills in asking pertinent questions to grasp business challenges and identify key metrics or objectives.

  • Developing internal communication skills, learning to effectively communicate with different levels of management.

  • Proficiency in managing multiple tasks, including requirement gathering, document writing, and support activities.

  • A problem-solving mindset, contributing creative solutions to complex issues in collaborative team environments.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

  • Experience with developing professional presentations, proposals and statements of work

  • The capability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Compliance/Framework Experience in one or more of the following:

  • NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, NIST , NIST 800-30, ISO 27001/2, HIPAA, GDPR, FFIEC, CIS, COBIT, HITRUST, CSA CCM, AICPA SOC 2, NIST AI RMF, Third Party Risk Management, IT Risk Management

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $150,000 to $170,000 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Consultant, you will specialize in cybersecurity Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), risk management, and cybersecurity strategy. You will lead complex client engagements across industries, translating regulatory, compliance, and risk challenges into actionable strategies that enhance cybersecurity resilience.

You will identify and quantify security and compliance risks, evaluate security program maturity and gaps, design and implement strategic solutions, and provide both strategic and hands-on guidance to help Fortune 500 and regulated enterprises strengthen their cyber risk posture and meet global regulatory expectations.

This role requires deep cybersecurity expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to work independently to develop approaches for challenging client solutions. You will also mentor junior consultants, collaborate with WWT leadership and client stakeholders, and act as a trusted advisor. Travel may be required up to 50%.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance on cybersecurity trends, technologies, and best practices.

  • Lead client engagements assessing and strengthening cybersecurity and IT risk programs aligned to NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS, SOC 2, and sectoral regulations (e.g., FFIEC, DORA, HIPAA).

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define scope, manage expectations, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

  • Develop and present comprehensive risk assessments, strategies, and recommendations to executives and boards, translating complex technical concepts into business-level insights.

  • Conduct maturity and gap assessments, benchmark against peers, and define target-state models with actionable roadmaps.

  • Design and implement governance frameworks, control libraries, and risk taxonomies tailored to client operating models.

  • Develop and enhance cybersecurity and compliance policies, standards, and program charters.

  • Advise clients on regulatory readiness, audit responses, and remediation planning.

  • Use data visualization and analytics to identify control gaps, quantify risk, and communicate findings effectively.

  • Support implementation of risk mitigation solutions to achieve defined business outcomes.

  • Mentor junior consultants and collaborate across teams to deliver high-impact client results.
