Position Summary
Key Account Managers are responsible for building and servicing their territories by developing strong business relationships with potential and existing Convenience Retail and Convenience Wholesale/Distribution Accounts. (Home base could be Dallas/Ft Worth, Kansas City, or Tulsa/Oklahoma City)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Identify and track Key Account tasks and goals pertaining to retailer promotional and Plan-o-gram update calendars.
- Establish routine communication with the Team Manager including all facets of the customer's business.
- Communicate item approvals and reset requests to the Team Manager.
- Develop and enhance customer relationships. Provide exemplary customer service through frequent face-to-face visits, telephone, and/or electronic contact.
- Resolve complaints and keep track of all processes that pertain to the customers' desires.
- Collaborate with various internal departments to ensure that MYA fulfills all customer requests.
- Demonstrate informed sales abilities through successful presentation of products to store group or retail headquarters, buyers, and distributors.
- Participate in sales meetings, on-site training, and trade events to maintain a high level of product and supplier knowledge.
- Collect and analyze data concerning consumer behavior to understand changing needs.
- Utilize data analytics to prospect and grow current book of business.
- Complete accurate and timely reports, utilizing our retail reporting tools, including weekly recaps, Itineraries, expense reports, and web-based reports.
- Coordinate and assist any needs requested by the Retail Territory Sales Associates.
- Some overnight travel may be required.
- Participate in Trade Shows as needed.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
- Drive personal vehicle and maintain clean driving record.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Two years of full-time sales industry related work experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license, personal vehicle, proof of insurance, and acceptable driving record
