DescriptionThe Research Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting multi-site clinical research initiatives focused on individuals with Down syndrome. This position ensures regulatory compliance, participant-centered protocol implementation, and cross-site coordination in alignment with study objectives. Travel to participating sites and events will be required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages a project.
- Coordinates the strategic planning process and monitors progress toward achieving project goals.
- Assists in developing, administering and monitoring project related budgets.
- Coordinates logistical arrangements for related conferences, conventions or meetings.
- May assist in identifying funding resources and in developing funding strategies and initiatives.
- Develops and generates various operational and statistical reports.
- Represents and promotes the project at various speaking engagements.
- May write grants, reports, briefings, newsletters, promotional or other written material related to the project.
- Performs related responsibilities as required.
ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
- Facilitate participant screening, consent, enrollment, and follow-up in accordance with study protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain accurate tracking systems for recruitment, data entry, study milestones, and reporting deliverables.
- Collaborate with investigators and site staff to troubleshoot barriers and implement protocol workflows.
- Participate in IRB submissions, amendments, and related documentation.
- Contribute to development and refinement of participant-facing materials with a focus on clarity and accessibility.
- Engage in periodic travel to support training, data collection, and quality assurance across sites.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related project management experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in public health, psychology, biology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum two years of experience coordinating human subjects research, preferably involving individuals with Down syndrome or other Intellectual Developmental Disability (IDD).
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in managing multi-site study workflows and regulatory documentation.
- Sensitivity to communication and engagement strategies tailored to IDD populations.
- Willingness and ability to travel, including overnight stays as needed.
- Bilingual
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed and at times, on short notice. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
