We are expanding our product and legal intelligence teams and are looking for a 
junior attorney or experienced paralegal
 who understands commercial real estate documentation and is excited to help shape the future of legal technology.

Role Overview

The candidate will bridge 
law and technology
, working alongside the 
product manager, engineering, and AI teams
 to train and refine Notessa's document intelligence engine. You will identify key legal provisions, help design document review modules, and ensure the platform accurately reflects real-world commercial real estate practices.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to stay close to law and deal-making but apply that knowledge in a cutting-edge technology setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and annotate 
    commercial real estate loan and property documents
    , including loan agreements, PSAs, intercreditor agreements, leases, and joint venture agreements.
  • Collaborate with 
    engineers and product managers
     to develop and refine modules for document parsing, clause extraction, and deal analytics.
  • Define and validate the platform's 
    data taxonomy
    , ensuring consistency and accuracy across legal concepts.
  • Assist in drafting reference guides, training materials, and user-facing content for legal workflows.
  • Conduct quality assurance testing of AI-generated results, flagging nuances in interpretation or drafting.
  • Stay current on developments in CRE finance and structured lending to inform product improvements.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years
     of experience as a 
    junior attorney
     or 
    paralegal
     in commercial real estate finance, structured lending, or related practice.
  • Familiarity with loan agreements, mezzanine/intercreditor structures, CMBS, asset management documents, leases, vendor contracts, development agreements and joint venture agreements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret complex legal provisions.
  • Interest in or exposure to 
    legal technology, AI, or document automation tools
    .
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working across technical and legal teams.
  • JD or BA/BS with paralegal certification preferred.
