We are seeking Peer Support Specialist, CADC, Counselors and Clinical Therapist to join our team. For the right individuals with the right attitude and outlook we are willing to pay for the Peer Support Training and Certification as well as provide on the job training. Responsibilities: As a Peer Support Specialist at 1st Step Recovery you will be responsible for, depending on your specific placement, the following:

  • Conduct pre-assessments and help clients establish goals, plans to achieve goals and resources to achieve them.
  • Offer therapeutic interventions, crisis counseling, and individual support sessions.
  • Lead therapuetic rehablitiation program sessions for groups of up to 8 clients.
  • Community outreach activities to help grow our presence in the community. Including contacting other programs, reaching out to hospitals, courts or homeless groups to find ways to help and to offer our services.
  • Act as a liaison for clients speaking with probation and parole or attending court appearances.
  • Participate in team meetings to coordinate treatment plans and services for clients.
  • Contribute to program graduations and community addiction events.
  • Stay well-versed in company policies, procedures, and rules, maintaining the highest ethical standards.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED. KY State PSS Certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
  • Current valid certification. We will pay for and train the right persons to get certified.
  • Preferably one or more years of experience with certification.
  • Experience in working with addiction in a residential and/or intensive outpatient milieu.
  • Strong knowledge of recovery, mental health, co-occurring disorders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
