Pastry Cook

Ferrane Bakery, a Scandinavian-inspired bakery and café in the heart of Brooklyn Heights, is seeking a talented Pastry Cook to join our creative and dedicated kitchen team.

We specialize in Swedish sandwiches, breads, and pastries crafted with care, precision, and passion — and we're looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm for excellence and community.

Role & Responsibilities

As a Pastry Cook at Ferrane Bakery, you'll bring creativity and precision to every item, from cookies to tarts, ensuring each pastry looks as beautiful as it tastes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Produce a variety of cakes, tarts, cookies, and Swedish-inspired pastries
  • Prepare and bake components with consistency and attention to detail
  • Collaborate on daily production lists and new recipes
  • Organize and maintain ingredient prep and station cleanliness
  • Conduct visual and taste checks for quality and presentation
  • Assist with special orders and seasonal offerings

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 year of professional pastry experience
  • Experience with cakes, tarts, cookies, and finishing techniques
  • Strong attention to detail, design, and presentation
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Open availability for morning and afternoon shifts (flexible scheduling)
  • Interest in or familiarity with Swedish pastries is a plus — but not required
