Our HR Managers act as the HR Manager for multiple businesses, building trust, solving problems, and driving practical HR results.
The Role
We're looking for a
Human Resources Manager (HRM)
to lead HR services for our Dallas-area clients. This is a
client-facing, technology-driven consulting role
— not a back-office HR job.
You'll work directly with business owners and employees, managing payroll, onboarding, benefits, and compliance across multiple companies. You'll also delegate and manage work to HR Generalists, ensuring your clients are supported at every level.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the day-to-day HR contact for assigned business clients
- Manage tickets within SLA timelines (90%+ closure standard)
- Oversee onboarding, payroll, and compliance documentation
- Coordinate benefits, open enrollment, and employee communications
- Conduct HR Integrity Checks and annual HR planning
- Delegate work to HR Generalists; manage task flow and quality
- Communicate directly with business owners and their teams
- Support after-hours client needs when required
- Maintain "Perfect Comms" standards and precise time tracking
Technology & Workflow
- Operate daily across multiple HRIS, payroll, and communication systems (Microsoft 365, Teams, Google Workspace, HubSpot, Slack, etc.)
- Manage multiple client logins and environments efficiently
- Use
AI tools
(ChatGPT, Copilot, Notion AI, etc.) to streamline work - Embrace new software and systems quickly — early adopters only
Evaluation & Growth Path
There are
three levels of evaluation
before earning the HR Manager title:
- Generalist Work
(min 30 days) – $30/hr | foundational HR support & training - HRM Onboarding
(min 30 days) – $32/hr | assist & shadow HRMs - HRM Evaluation
(min 30 days) – $37.50/hr | manage clients & deliver audits - HR Manager (W2)
– $37.50 @ min 90 days - SR HR Manager
@ 1 year $42.50/hr + revenue share | full ownership of clients & Generalists
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field (required)
- 5+ years of HR experience (generalist or business partner)
- Prior experience in HR consulting or multi-client environments strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and payroll practices
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR a plus
Why Moss Consulting
This is not a cubicle job — it's a
leadership opportunity
in a fast-growing HR consulting firm that rewards innovation, ownership, and adaptability. You'll work directly with clients, lead a team of HR professionals, and build systems that define how modern HR is delivered.
