Quality and Safety Manager

Overview:
The Safety and Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the safety program to ensure a safe, healthy and accident-free work environment. They must ensure overall company compliance in all areas of safety, environmental quality, and governmental compliance, while also making sure that products meet all customer requirements through an established quality system.
Responsibilities:
· Plans and implements company safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
· Plans and implements programs and materials to train managers and employees in work site safety and quality practices/procedures through the company learning management system.
· Ensures that procedures/protocols for accidents and/or injuries are established and leads the investigation if an event occurs.
· Performs safety and quality control inspections and audits at all facilities and share with key stakeholders.
· Responsible for reviewing and updating all plant safety and quality instructions and training to ensure they remain current.
· Complete root cause analysis to address safety and quality issues and recommend/implement corrective actions.
· Manage and prepare for all audits, including all third-party audits.
· Track, prepare and present monthly performance measurements.
· Oversee the retention of company order/engineering files, including the research and fulfillment of customer information requests.
Requirements:
· Prior experience as a Safety and Quality Manager for a structural steel fabricator desired.
· Prior experience in welding, layout, and press operations is desired.
· Highly organized with the ability to multi-task
· Working knowledge of AISC and AWS specifications related to inspection and quality procedures.
· Experience with NDT procedures related to structural steel fabrication.
· Knowledge of Industry QA/QC standards and specifications.
· Continuous improvement mindset.
· Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, JDE).
· Ability to read blueprints.
