Outside Sales Account Manager – Temperature Instrumentation

Sandelius Instruments is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Account Manager with a strong background in temperature measurement and process instrumentation. This position focuses on supporting and growing business within the petrochemical and refining sectors across the Gulf Coast.
You'll manage existing refinery relationships, develop new accounts, and provide technical sales support for thermocouples, RTDs, thermowells, and related custom engineered temperature assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and grow existing customer accounts in the refining and petrochemical industry.
• Identify new opportunities for temperature measurement solutions and field services.
• Conduct site visits, lunch-and-learns, and technical presentations.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop custom solutions.
• Work closely with EPCs, distributors, and reliability engineers to specify instrumentation.
• Maintain CRM updates, forecasts, and pipeline activity.
Qualifications
• 3+ years of outside sales or account management experience in process instrumentation.
• Background in refining, petrochemical, or chemical processing.
• Familiarity with temperature sensors, thermowells, transmitters, and control systems.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to interpret P&IDs and datasheets.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel 30–50% throughout the Gulf Coast.
Preferred Experience
• Existing relationships at major refineries (Marathon, Citgo, Valero, Motiva, Chevron, etc.).
• Experience selling temperature or process instrumentation products.
• Technical or engineering education in Instrumentation, Mechanical, or Electrical fields.
