Quality Technician Trainee

Reports to Quality Manager

Job Description

The Quality Technician Trainee will learn and assist with ensuring that products received and manufactured meet company and customer quality standards. This is a hands-on training role ideal for someone with strong computer skills, attention to detail, and an interest in developing a career in quality assurance and manufacturing processes.

Essential Functions

Learn to perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections on materials and finished products.Assist with first-piece approvals prior to production start-up.Participate in dock audits and other quality checks as assigned.Learn to review control charts and inspection data to ensure product quality remains within control limits.Help identify and document non-conforming materials and support corrective action efforts.Support quality documentation, recordkeeping, and data entry within Epicor (training provided).Assist with new product qualifications and verification that customer requirements are met.Maintain quality files and records in an organized manner.Perform other duties as instructed by the Quality Manager.

Additional Responsibilities

Participate in training related to process capability studies, AQP, and continuous improvement.Support the Quality team in developing cause and corrective actions for customers, suppliers, or internal rejections.Attend team meetings and contribute ideas for improving quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; some technical or college coursework preferred.Must be comfortable using computers and learning new software systems (Epicor training provided).Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Basic math skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Reliable, self-motivated, and willing to learn.Ability to read small print and distinguish colors accurately
