Job Summary: Job incumbent assists the Clinical Support Manager with varies duties within the Medical Services Division.

Representative Duties: Under the general supervision of the Clinical Support Manager job incumbent:
Assists Clinical Support Manager with all clinical schedules within the Family Medicine, Urgent Care, and Specialty Clinics. Maintains and enforces clinic policies and guidelines in accordance to schedules.
Works with rural medical services and team leads to ensure village visits are occurring as required and that village visits are well-coordinated.
Responsible for all coordination of medical staff pertaining to village trips; scheduling and booking flights, managing the village calendar as well as the medical services calendar, trip reports and authorizations.
In partnership with rural services staff, develops methods to improve access to care for village based patients.
Assists with open access scheduling and works closely with Central Scheduling to make sure appointments are available and schedules are opened appropriately.
General Call Duties
a. Works with Clinical Support Manager to maintain Family Medicine and OB Call schedules.
b. Responsible for sending out all call schedules monthly as well as all changes to call.
c. Responsible for collection of all call schedules throughout Clinical Services and uploading into TigerConnect.
- Coordination of Student Rotations:
a. Works with Health Education Manager to ensure student rotations are effectively managed and providers are aware of student rotations.
b. Assist Health Education Manager with the Medical Assistant Intern program, to include placement of interns in various departments, coaching mentors, assessment of competencies
Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality assurance and improvement monitors to maintain optimal standards of care and improve patient outcomes.
Responsible for top level customer service of all employees.
Other Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Degree in healthcare related field or three years of equivalent experience.
Two years experience in moderate to complex medical scheduling.
Experience in MS office with proficiency in Excel.
Prior experience in a health care setting providing care for Alaska Natives preferred.
Must pass background check pursuant to federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Athena Electronic Health Record experienced preferred.
Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills required.
Supervision: This position supervises does not supervise staff.

Physical demands: Position is mostly sedentary. Must be able to work effectively in a busy, sometimes stressful environment.

Summation: Patients served are Alaska Natives/American Indians, cultural sensitivity should be exercised. Position requires innovation, ability to envision how to change processes and procedures to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
