The Opportunity
We partner with manufacturers across Walker seeking HR Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and retention for production, skilled trades, and administrative staff.
- Oversee employee relations, conflict resolution, and grievance procedures, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with labor laws and manufacturing safety regulations.
- Administer compensation, benefits, and payroll processes, including managing collective bargaining agreements where applicable.
- Lead performance management initiatives, training, and development programs focused on manufacturing skills and leadership.
- Ensure a safe working environment by collaborating on safety initiatives, incident investigation, and workers' compensation claims.
- Conduct workforce planning and succession planning to meet evolving production demands and organizational growth.
Recommended Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in HR generalist functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, and performance management.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws, safety regulations (e.g., OSHA), and HR best practices.
- Proven ability to effectively manage complex employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to partner with plant management and engage a diverse workforce.
- Experience developing and implementing HR programs that support operational goals and a positive work culture.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience working in a unionized environment or with collective bargaining agreements.
- Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in Spanish or another relevant second language.
- Prior experience managing HR across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Strong background in industrial safety and OSHA compliance.
