HR Specialist and Office Manager

Location: Huntsville, AL

Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week)

We're looking for a dedicated HR Specialist and HR Manager to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This is a full-time, in-office position that will be responsible for a combination of HR, Security, and Recruiting duties and other employee-related support.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, capable of managing multiple priorities, and skilled with verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

Human Resources (HR)

  • Manage employee in-processing and out-processing
  • Oversee employee performance documentation
  • Maintain employee morale and retention programs
  • Manage annual open enrollment
  • Administer and manage employee benefits and benefits portal
  • Oversee employee training
  • Govern company policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Help coordinate event management for corporate events

Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO)

  • Manage security program: Oversight, investigations, training, compliance and procedures, and communication
  • Initiate security clearance requests
  • Participate in Insider Threat Workgroup by receiving and logging employee self-reports
  • Participate in company inspections and assessments
  • Process Visit Authorization Requests (VARs)
  • Process APACS, SOFA, and SPOT travel packages for employees traveling OCONUS

Recruiting

  • Draft job requirements documents for new vacancies
  • Log and track candidate resumes and applications
  • Submit qualified candidates for open positions
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all recruiting actions, both current and historical

Other duties as assigned

  • Perform administrative functions
  • Serve as a central point of contact for employee concerns, communication between departments, and correspondence with vendors
  • Address any issues or conflicts that arise within the office, finding solutions to maintain a productive work environment

Minimum qualifications

  • Must be personable, customer service oriented, reliable, team-oriented, trustworthy and attentive
  • Proven experience in HR, Personnel Security, or a related field
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • 10 years of experience in a corporate support environment
  • This is not a remote position

Preferred qualifications

  • Active Top Secret clearance (or eligibility)
  • Accounting experience
  • Three or more years' experience as FSO or Alternate FSO
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables and list management)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Access and SharePoint
  • Experience as a defense contractor working with Department of Defense
