Job Summary
The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) Sleep Lead has accountability and responsibility for staffing department and managing all patient care areas on a shift-to-shift basis. The RCP Sleep Lead is recognized as a resource expert in the Respiratory Care profession and acts as a resource and develops the clinical practice and assessment skills of their peers. The RCP Sleep Lead collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to maximize patient care and achieve the most effective outcomes. Serves as a role-model and readily shares knowledge. The Respiratory Care Practitioners Leadership skills are developing at various levels in preparation for departmental leadership roles.Pay Range
Minimum $43.54 Midpoint $57.70 Maximum $71.84Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience
• Required: Minimum of five (5) years of experience. Two (2) years of respiratory acute care experience or equivalent experience and three (3) years of Pediatric Polysomnography/Sleep Medicine experience.
• Preferred: Pediatric acute care experience. Supervisory experience.
Education
• Required: Graduate of a two (2) year accredited Respiratory Therapy Program. National Board of Respiratory Care Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Board of Polysomnographic Technologists Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or National Board of Respiratory Care Sleep Disorder Specialist (SDS) credential. Training
• Required: Successful completion of validated competencies for Respiratory Care Practitioner-Sleep.
• Preferred: Lead and/or Supervisory experience in Sleep Medicine.
Specialized Skills
• Required: Ability to work effectively under pressure due to changing priorities, interruptions, and patient care and/or care coordination needs. Excellent interpersonal communication, including conflict resolution, and problem solving skills. Clinical knowledge of multiple pediatric age groups and treatment plans according to sleep disorder disease process. Strong organizational and time management skills, as evidenced by capacity to multi-task and prioritize. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in interactions with physicians, payers, patients, and their families. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate with third party payers to obtain authorization for the appropriate treatment setting for patients requiring medical treatment. Proficient ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines. Proficient skills in Polysmith, Excel, Word, and Power Point.

Licensure
• Required: California Respiratory Care Board-Respiratory Care Practitioner license. National Board of Respiratory Care Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Board of Polysomnographic Technologists Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or National Board of Respiratory Care Sleep Disorder Specialist (SDS) credential. within one year of hire date. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Preferred: Preferred: Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists Certificate in Clinical Sleep Health (CCSH). Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist Pediatric Sleep Certification.
