*Position Details*
The Payroll/HR Assistant position plays a key role in ensuring the success of Davis Door. This role consists of a variety of tasks that serve to take care of our employees. We utilize a payroll software, but with a complicated payroll with a variety of pay types and rates, we double check and verify entries and totals utilizing reports and excel spreadsheets. We also support staff to schedule training, provide benefits information, and other employment activities. Basically, we take care of employees from on-boarding to off-boarding and everything in between In our Seattle Main Office, we also value cross-training, so an additional task will be back up phones when needed for customer service, which consists of serving our customers by understanding their needs and correctly routing them to the person who can help them and/or setting up service calls in our system.

The Payroll/HR Assistant role is very employee focused. Whether you are processing payroll, assisting an employee with an inquiry, or following up with one of the many payroll/hr and employee items we track, our number one goal is that our employees have a positive experience.

The Payroll/HR Assistant position is a multi-faceted role, and requires a positive person who can learn, retain how our processes work, and exhibit the ability to follow through. Being able to stay focused and positive to support the employees and the company is key. We are willing to teach and coach, and are looking for someone who fits our culture with the ability and enthusiasm to learn/

Primary Duties

  • Time sheet reviews and verifications for accuracy
  • Processing prevailing wage forms online for L&I
  • Employee training – scheduling, tracking of classes, certifications
  • Respond to employee requests for information
  • PayNW – maintain employee records
  • Recruiting support (phone interview, referral calls, etc.)
  • Customer service support/back up
  • Cross training for other office processing systems

Skills Required

  • Understanding of general payroll principles including deductions, overtime, taxes, etc.
  • A sense of personal responsibility, and a passion for numbers, excel, and formulas
  • A professional demeanor and punctuality
  • Team oriented, can do attitude
  • Ability to stay organized and on task in a fast paced environment while collaborating and maintaining communication with the team.
  • Maintaining complete confidentially of all payroll and employee related matters.
  • A pre-employment drug test and background check will be required.

This position is Monday-Friday, full time. Davis Door Service provides a generous medical, dental, vision and 401k plan. We offer paid holidays, as well as paid time off. In addition, there is an annual bonus. Davis Door also sponsors company events and provides tickets to sports events.
