Job Summary:
The HR Manager at Chief Seattle Club serves as a pivotal member of the Human Resources team, providing daily leadership and oversight to HR staff. This role is responsible for managing core HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with organizational policies and employment laws. The HR Manager will collaborate closely with the HR Director and Chief Administrative Officer to ensure a positive work environment and support organizational goals through effective human resources practices. Additionally, this position plays a vital role in policy implementation, fostering staff professional development, and maintaining a culture of equity and inclusion.
Essential Job Functions:
· Lead, supervise, and support HR staff in daily operations to ensure effective and efficient HR service delivery.
· Oversee recruitment and hiring processes, including job postings, interviewing, and selection of qualified candidates.
· Manage onboarding activities to ensure a welcoming and compliant introduction for new employees.
· Administer employee relations by addressing workplace concerns, facilitating conflict resolution, and promoting a positive work environment.
· Implement and monitor performance management processes, including evaluations, feedback, and development plans.
· Ensure compliance with organizational policies, employment laws, and regulatory requirements including ACA, ERISA, COBRA and HIPPA.
· Implement, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures
· Collaborate with the HR Director and Chief Administrative Officer to design and execute HR strategies that align with organizational goals.
· Promote and uphold the mission, vision, and values of Chief Seattle Club.
· Maintain accurate HR records and manage confidential employee information responsibly.
· Collaborate with leadership regarding the overall safety program. Actively participate in safety committee meetings, completion of staff trainings, ensure timely communication of safety updates, and provide leadership and support during emergencies in alignment with organizational protocols.
· Administer and coordinate employee benefits programs such as medical, dental, vision, retirement and wellness programs.
· Coordinate benefit enrollments, terminations, and changes including open enrollment
· Act as liaison between staff, payroll, and our benefits brokerage. Communicating changes, questions and updating employee records.
· Prepare and maintain documentation, reports and disclosures as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
:
Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources
, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
Experience:
Typically, a minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in human resources or a related field is required. Experience in a leadership or supervisory role is highly valued.
Licenses/Certifications:
Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR.
Technical Skills & Competencies:
· Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and related HR management software.
· Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, FLSA, ADA, and EEO guidelines, as well as key safety-related regulations such as OSHA standards and workplace safety compliance requirements.
· Experience with benefits administration systems.
· Ability to analyze HR metrics and generate reports to inform decision-making.
· Competency in developing and implementing recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes.
· Knowledge of compensation and benefits structures, as well as job analysis and evaluation techniques.
· Familiarity with employee relations practices, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures.
· Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

· Discretion and sound judgment in decision-making processes, maintaining professionalism at all times.
Preferred Qualifications
:
· A master's degree in human resources management or a related discipline is preferred and may substitute for some experience requirements.
· Experience working with Native organizations or mission-driven non-profits is highly preferred, as it brings valuable insight and commitment to serving diverse communities and supporting organizational missions.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds for office supplies or event materials.
· Frequent communication with employees and management in person, via phone, and through electronic means.
· Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment, with occasional off-site meetings or trainings as needed.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment.
