Summary
Pella Products of Houston — a locally owned distributor of Pella Windows and Doors — is seeking an HR Generalist to support our growing team and strengthen our people-first culture. This role will be a key part of the Human Resources function, ensuring that HR strategies, employee programs, and company culture align with our mission to deliver exceptional customer and employee experiences.
The HR Generalist will handle a variety of HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, compliance, compensation support, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is passionate about building a strong, inclusive company culture, leveraging AI and data to improve efficiency, and fostering a workplace where team members can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Champion initiatives that strengthen company culture, team collaboration, and employee satisfaction.
- Design and manage employee engagement programs, recognition systems, and cultural events.
- Serve as a culture ambassador — reinforcing Pella Houston's values of caring, integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Support leadership in communication strategies that promote transparency and connectedness.
Talent Management & Development
- Partner with managers to recruit, interview, and onboard top talent across all departments.
- Facilitate training and development programs that support growth and retention.
- Assist in creating performance management processes that foster feedback, accountability, and development.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and company policies.
- Support benefits administration, including health insurance, 401(k), and other employee programs.
- Participate in compensation review cycles, ensuring pay practices are fair, competitive, and effectively communicated.
AI & Technology Utilization
- Learn and implement AI systems to streamline HR workflows, improve hiring, and enhance employee engagement analytics.
- Leverage data and technology to generate insights on turnover, satisfaction, and organizational performance.
Strategic & Administrative Support
- Collaborate with leadership on HR strategy and continuous improvement projects.
- Contribute to internal communications and employee experience initiatives.
- Assist in shaping HR policies and practices that reflect the Pella Houston culture and support long-term growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of progressive HR experience; generalist experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust at all levels.
- Demonstrated passion for company culture and employee engagement.
- Comfort with technology and willingness to learn and implement AI-driven HR tools.
- Organized, proactive, and capable of balancing multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
