Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers while assisting them with their shopping needs. You will play a key role in driving sales and ensuring a positive shopping experience in our grocery store environment.

Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries regarding products and services.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently, handling cash transactions and ensuring accurate cash handling.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge through engaging product demos to enhance customer understanding and drive sales.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, ensuring products are well-stocked and visually appealing.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and customers, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette when answering calls.
  • Supervise junior staff as needed, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
  • Utilize basic math skills for processing transactions and managing inventory counts.
  • Assist in training new employees on sales techniques, product knowledge, and store policies.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
  • Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance customer interactions.
  • Ability to handle cash responsibly and accurately during transactions.
  • Experience in supervising or mentoring staff is advantageous.
  • A passion for sales and customer service, with a proactive approach to meeting customer needs.
