The Role

As Director, AWS Technology & Innovation Leader, you will drive cloud transformation initiatives across enterprise clients. You will lead technical strategy, solution design, and innovation in AWS technologies, including modernization, migration, AI/ML integration, data strategy, and application transformation. This role is aligned with Kyndryl's GSCF under the Architect and Technical Leadership tracks, requiring deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and client engagement capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical strategy and solution architecture for complex AWS engagements.
  • Advise account teams and client leadership (CIO, CTO) on future-state architectures and innovation roadmaps.
  • Co-develop joint offerings, accelerators, reference architectures, and proof-of-concepts with AWS solution architects and alliance leaders
  • Mentor and enable internal teams to elevate AWS technical capabilities and certifications.
  • Oversee technical due diligence, solution reviews, RFP responses, and deal qualification.
  • Define and embed repeatable frameworks and architecture patterns to scale AWS-led solutions.
  • Represent Kyndryl in AWS and industry forums to strengthen strategic partnerships.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in enterprise technology roles, with at least 7 years focused on cloud transformation and AWS solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with C-level executives and technical leadership in large enterprise clients.
  • Deep technical knowledge of AWS services—including but not limited to infrastructure, data & analytics, AI/ML, security, application modernization.
  • Proven track record in leading large, cross-functional teams in technical pursuits, defining architectures, and executing transformation programs.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Travel 15% - 20%

Preferred:

  • Master's degree or MBA or similar advanced degree.
  • AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified DevOps, etc.).
  • Prior experience in alliance management, co-innovation programs, or technical leadership within hyperscaler partnerships.
  • Experience with mainframe modernization or hybrid cloud strategy is an advantage.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Growth in AWS-led pipeline and revenue influenced by your technical leadership.
  • Number and quality of joint offerings, proof-of-concepts, and reference architectures delivered with AWS.
  • Client satisfaction and trust, particularly at the CIO/CTO level.
  • Technical team enablement: improvements in capability, certifications, or architectural maturity.
  • Innovation uptake: measurable deployment of new AWS-driven technologies or modernized solutions.

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is - $173,280 to $329,280 based on a full-time schedule.

Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.

There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:

California: $190,560 to $395,040

Colorado: $173,280 to $329,280

New York City: $207,840 to $395,040

Washington: $190,560 to $362,160

Washington DC: $190,560 to $362,160

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl's discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl's applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off.
