Position Summary:

Our Medical Assistant will oversee back office operations of the clinic while contributing administrative support as needed. This hybrid role is ideal for someone with a background in medical assisting or nursing who also has strong organizational and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Clinical Duties (Patient Care)

  • Taking patient vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.).
  • Assisting physicians during medical exams and minor procedures.
  • Preparing patients for exams, explaining procedures, and collecting medical history.
  • Administering medications and injections (as permitted by state laws).
  • Drawing blood (phlebotomy) and collecting laboratory specimens.
  • Performing basic laboratory tests (urinalysis, blood tests, etc.).
  • Removing sutures and changing dressings.
  • Conducting electrocardiograms (EKGs).
  • Sterilizing medical instruments and maintaining exam rooms.
  • Educating patients on medications, treatments, and general health.

2. Administrative Duties (Office & Clerical Work)

  • Scheduling patient appointments and managing calendars.
  • Answering phone calls and communicating with patients.
  • Updating and maintaining electronic health records (EHR).
  • Processing insurance claims and handling billing/coding.
  • Greeting and checking in patients at the front desk.
  • Organizing medical files and ensuring patient confidentiality.
  • Coordinating referrals to specialists.

3. Other Responsibilities

  • Ordering and stocking medical supplies.
  • Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and safety protocols.
  • Providing emotional support and comfort to patients.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $23.00 per hour
