Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Infusion Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with experience in IV infusion and various medical settings. This role involves administering medications, monitoring patient responses, and providing education to patients and their families regarding treatment plans. The Infusion Nurse will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Administer IV infusions and injections as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patients during infusion therapy, assessing vital signs and reactions.
  • Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Provide education to patients regarding their treatment plans and medication administration.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Conduct patient assessments to determine the need for infusion therapy.
  • Maintain aseptic technique during procedures and ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
  • Assist in triage and emergency situations as needed.
  • Participate in case management and discharge planning for patients requiring ongoing care.

Qualifications

  • Valid nursing license with experience in acute care, critical care, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
  • Experience with IV insertion, phlebotomy, and medication administration.
  • Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9, ICD-10) and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of various medical specialties including but not limited to oncology, geriatrics, pediatrics, and infectious disease care.
  • Strong assessment skills with the ability to recognize changes in patient conditions.
  • Experience working in diverse settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, or home health environments.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
