Join our dynamic dental team as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in transforming smiles and enhancing patient experiences In this energetic environment, you will assist orthodontists in delivering exceptional care while ensuring a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for our patients. Your expertise in dental assisting will shine as you work closely with both children and adults, making a difference in their orthodontic journey.

What you'll do

  • Assist orthodontists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and precision.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment areas, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
  • Take and develop X-rays, utilizing your skills in medical imaging to support accurate diagnoses.
  • Manage patient records through electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote optimal results.
  • Perform chairside assisting during orthodontic procedures, including the application of braces and adjustments.
  • Monitor vital signs and maintain medical documentation to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.

Basic qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures related to orthodontics and general dentistry.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with pediatric dentistry, providing compassionate care for younger patients.
  • Familiarity with 3D scanning technology for orthodontic assessments.
  • Background in prosthodontics or endodontics is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable.
