Regional Sales Director – Golf, Turf & Landscape (Water Conservation Tech)
Locations: Southern California OR Las Vegas / Northern Mojave
Type: Full-time, remote field role
About the Role
Desert Control is scaling a breakthrough soil and water conservation technology across the U.S. Southwest. We are seeking a high-performance Regional Sales Director who can own a territory, close complex technical sales, and build strong relationships with golf and landscape superintendents.
You will lead direct sales in your region, supported by our agronomy, R&D, and operations teams. This is a role for a skilled consultative seller who thrives in a fast-moving scale-up environment and wants to help customers solve real challenges: water scarcity, rising irrigation costs, soil degradation, and labor constraints.
This position combines strategic territory leadership with hands-on field sales. You'll drive pipeline, deepen customer trust, and represent Desert Control as the go-to partner for sustainable turf and landscape management.
What Success Looks Like
You consistently hit or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
You build a healthy pipeline and shorten sales cycles
Customers view you as a trusted advisor, not just a vendor
You turn pilot projects into repeat business and long-term partnerships
You help shape Desert Control's expansion strategy in the Southwest
What You'll Do
Own full-cycle sales from prospecting to close within your territory
Build trusted relationships with superintendents, course managers, and industry partners
Conduct ROI-driven presentations and field demos
Collaborate with agronomy and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery and customer success
Become the primary customer contact for project planning, applications, and post-installation follow-up
Maintain accurate pipeline and CRM reporting (HubSpot)
Represent Desert Control at industry events, associations, and regional networks
Develop annual territory plans, including forecasting and performance analysis
Ensure customer satisfaction that drives referrals and long-term loyalty
Qualifications
Required
5+ years of successful outside sales experience in golf, turf, landscape irrigation, or soil products
Strong existing network with regional superintendents and industry partners
Proven track record of closing large, consultative projects
Ability to translate technical/agronomic value into clear financial ROI
Strong communication and presentation skills
Comfortable working autonomously in a field-focused, remote environment
Valid driver's license and ability to travel 50–70% within your territory
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in agronomy, turf management, business, or related field
Experience selling sustainability or water conservation technologies
Familiarity with irrigation systems, turf agronomy, or soil science
CRM fluency (HubSpot preferred)
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $110,000–$150,000 (DOE + proven performance)
OTE: Highly competitive commission-plan with accelerators
Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), mileage reimbursement or company vehicle, phone allowance
Final compensation depends on territory, network strength, and experience.
