We are rebuilding Tennis Channel's digital experience from the ground up — and we're looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to be a founding member of our new in-house engineering team. You'll play a critical role in designing and building our mobile (iOS and Android), connected TV (Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV), and web platforms to deliver a world-class, personalized fan experience.
This is a hands-on engineering role with ownership of architecture, implementation, and launch. You'll help shape the technology vision and set the foundation for a modern, scalable, and high-performing multi-platform product.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Technical Strategy
- Define the frontend and backend architecture for our mobile, TV, and web apps.
- Evaluate and integrate a CMS that empowers content and merchandising teams.
- Make key decisions around frameworks, hosting, APIs, and app infrastructure.
Build & Launch
- Lead the development and launch of brand-new iOS and Android applications.
- Collaborate with designers and product managers to create fast, intuitive user experiences.
- Deliver performant, scalable code for streaming and interactive experiences.
Process & Tooling
- Develop architecture diagrams, system documentation, and API specs.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines, automated test infrastructure, and observability practices (monitoring, logging, alerting).
- Ensure high code quality through reviews, testing, and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of experience with at least one core programming language
- Experience designing architecture for mobile or full-stack applications, with a focus on scalability and maintainability
- Proven track record of launching consumer-facing apps or services
- Experience leading design discussions, mentoring engineers, or serving as a tech lead
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with streaming video apps or media platforms
- Experience working with CMS systems (e.g., Sanity, Strapi, Contentful)
- Experience building apps for Roku, Apple TV, or Fire TV and website
- Passion for sports, media, or building products fans love

The base salary compensation range for this role is $210,000 to $240,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates' relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
