Job Description

The Strategic Initiative Specialist is a master's-prepared professional responsible for supporting strategic initiatives across the healthcare practice. This role combines project management, operational strategy, and advanced data analytics to drive organizational performance and improve clinical, operational, and administrative workflows.

The Specialist provides analytical insights, supports decision-making, and assist with strategic priorities across all departments. The role requires the ability to work autonomously, collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, and serve as a team leader for assigned initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Project Leadership & Execution

Lead and coordinate strategic initiatives, including workflow redesign, service-line expansion, program development, and operational enhancements.

Translate leadership goals into actionable project plans with clear timelines, deliverables, and evaluation metrics.

Lead or co-lead project workgroups to ensure alignment, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.

Identify risks, resource needs, and operational barriers; recommend actionable solutions to executive leadership.

- Prepare clear, comprehensive project updates, executive reports, and decision-support materials.

2. Advanced Data Analytics & Decision Support

Collect, analyze, and interpret clinical, operational, and financial data to support organizational strategy and performance improvement.

Develop data models, dashboards, and trend reports that translate complex datasets into actionable insights.

Conduct root-cause analyses to identify drivers of inefficiency, variation, or performance gaps.

Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership in a clear, concise, and decision-ready format.

- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to implement data-driven improvements.

3. Executive Support & Organizational Alignment

Work directly with the CEO and other C-Suite leaders on priority initiatives, emerging needs, and organizational assessments.

Serve as a strategic partner during project rollout, ensuring alignment with leadership direction across all teams.

Prepare executive briefings, meeting summaries, agendas, and follow-up action plans.

- Facilitate communication across clinical, operational, financial, and administrative units to ensure seamless coordination.

4. Operational Strategy, Quality & Compliance

Evaluate clinical and administrative workflows to identify opportunities for efficiency and enhanced patient experience.

Assist in updating policies, procedures, and SOPs to reflect improved or new processes.

Ensure all initiatives comply with organizational policies and healthcare regulatory standards.

- Support the collection and reporting of quality metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and accreditation documentation.

  • Required Qualifications

Education

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.

Experience

Minimum of two years of professional experience in healthcare administration, project management, operations, data analytics, or strategic support.

  • Healthcare experience preferred.

Advanced Analytical Expertise: Skilled at data collection, modeling, interpretation, and visualization; able to turn data into insights and insights into recommendations.

Strategic & Critical Thinking: Able to evaluate complex problems, anticipate needs, and provide sound, evidence-based recommendations.

Autonomy & Initiative: Self-directed, able to manage multiple priorities, and capable of independent decision-making within role scope.

Team Leadership & Collaboration: Effective leading workgroups or project teams; strong interpersonal skills across clinical and administrative environments.

Executive Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication, including preparing high-quality presentations, summaries, and reports for leadership.

Project Management Excellence: Demonstrated ability to manage timelines, stakeholders, and cross-functional tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides or Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with EMR/PM systems and analytics tools preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working directly with senior or executive leadership.

Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA).

Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).

- Understanding of healthcare compliance, accreditation standards, and operational best practices.
