VT Trucking, LLC is a family-owned company in heavy civil construction since 1995. We are a team of professionals who "Move Mountains" — literally and figuratively — with a commitment to quality, teamwork, and safety. Our 8-bay shop is equipped with two 5-ton cranes and supports the maintenance of a wide range of heavy equipment, including scrapers, dozers, skid-steers, loaders, and blades.

We're currently hiring Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanics to help join our shop, be a part of a team of skilled mechanics, and ensure our equipment stays in peak condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on CAT, Komatsu, John Deere, Cummins, CASE, and more heavy equipment
  • Diagnose issues with diesel power units, electrical, hydraulic, transmission, and sensor systems
  • Rebuild motors and transmissions; perform incidental welding as needed
  • Perform quality control inspections to ensure repairs meet company and safety standards
  • Comply with all OSHA, federal, and state regulations
  • Think critically to offer innovative solutions and keep equipment running efficiently

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a heavy equipment mechanic (preferred)
  • Must supply your own tools
  • Familiarity with CAT ET SIS, Topcon, or Trimble GPS systems (preferred)
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Valid OSHA 10 for the Construction Industry (can obtain after hire)
  • Ability to withstand extreme conditions (heat, cold, noise)
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to pass a drug test
