Heavy Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. Duties

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, air brake systems, HVAC units, and electrical components using schematics and technical manuals.
• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, wheel alignments, and fluid checks to extend equipment lifespan.
• Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs.
• Repair and maintain a variety of heavy equipment such as Semi's, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other large machinery.
• Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
• Perform assembly and disassembly of machinery components during repairs or upgrades with precision.
• Operate heavy equipment safely during testing or troubleshooting procedures while adhering to all safety protocols.
• Maintain detailed service records including inspection reports, repair logs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
• Assist with on-site equipment inspections to identify potential issues before they escalate into costly repairs or safety hazards.
• Support customer service efforts by communicating repair findings clearly and providing professional recommendations for ongoing maintenance.

Requirements

* Familiar with JPRO and Cummings software.

* Proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic with experience.

• Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, HVAC units, suspension systems, and electrical diagnostics.
• Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues.
• Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; experience with power tools is essential.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, tractors-trailers and vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Familiarity with automotive repair procedures including brake repair, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong attention to detail.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in demanding environments while maintaining safety standards.
• Valid certifications related to vehicle maintenance or heavy equipment operation are a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is expected.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
