Position Overview
We are seeking a highly energetic, detail-oriented Documentation Specialist to join our fast-paced team. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining accurate internal documentation, supporting data entry needs, and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
Previous experience in the mental health field is preferred but not required—we welcome candidates who are eager to learn, adapt quickly, and align with our mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter, update, and maintain documentation across various systems and platforms.
- Review and verify documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with organizational guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members to fill in missing information and resolve discrepancies.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting all deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and all applicable privacy regulations.
- Support process improvement efforts by identifying documentation gaps or inconsistencies.
- Contribute positively to a mission-driven team environment and uphold organizational values.
Qualifications
Required:
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to self-start, take initiative, and work independently.
- Comfort working under deadlines and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to ask questions when clarification is needed.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems, tools, and documentation processes.
Preferred (Not Required):
- Experience working in mental health, healthcare, or a related field.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) or documentation management systems.
- Knowledge of HIPAA or other compliance frameworks.
