SCOPE OF WORK:

Under general direction of the IT Manager, this position maintains, installs and troubleshoots personal computers and peripherals, hardware, phone systems, wired and wireless networks, and Active Directory user and group setup, and other agency technical devices/systems and assists in deployment and support of agency software including Yardi, online training and computing systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions

Provide expert support for laptops, desktops, and remote access technologies as well as provide IT support as required for hardware, software, smart phone, and remote access;

• Manage user account setup and administration in MS Active Directory;
• Provide basic server and administration support for daily operations in a Windows environment;
• Assess and recommend standard configurations for new and existing desktop and laptops;
• Diagnose and resolve level 2 and 3 technical problems with computer hardware, networking and software;
• Install and configure PC hardware and software at end user workstations and tests for correct operation;
• Serve as a backup support person and administrator of the telephone system and Network Administrator and IT Manager;
• Train and assist users in the use of personal computers, peripheral devices and software to diagnose problems, resolve issues and increase productivity;
• Log PC software bugs and search for solutions via information resources and upgrades available on the internet and/or direct communication with software vendors;
• Implement approved solutions to achieve increased user efficiency using approved tools and techniques;
• Provide support for company cellular phones and wireless devices. Maintain inventory of all wireless communications equipment.

Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Must have an Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field AND one (1) year of paid experience providing end-user support for PC desktop and application software and installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting, OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE OF/SKILL IN:

• Desktop and server operating systems (Windows Pro 11, 10)(Windows Server 2022, 2016);
• IP addressing, network protocols (like TCP/IP), and network topologies
• Microsoft Office tools and Office 365 including Exchange and SharePoint;
• Familiarity with MS Active Directory;
• Analyzing and explaining technical issues to users and providing effective solutions.
• Basic grammar, punctuation and spelling.

• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, especially in technical language, in a clear and concise manner;
• Establish, maintain and foster harmonious working relationships with EHA staff at all levels, and with outside vendors and consultants;
• Work effectively in a team oriented, collaborative environment;

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is generally performed in an office environment. Employee is subject to noise of computer, printers and copiers, and to interruptions. Work is required at other EHA facilities.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Washington State Driver's license or ability to obtain one within 60 days and good driving record;
• Fair Housing Certification or ability to obtain one within 90 days.

ADDITIONAL (DESIRABLE) QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with Yardi system preferred;
• Basic experience with Linux and Unix systems preferred;
• Familiarity with VOIP phone systems and voicemail;
• Prior government work experience.
